death in the family

Family Guy’s Brian Might Not Stay Dead

Last Sunday, when Family Guy killed off the family dog Brian, the reaction among fans ranged from pissed to incredulous. It was hard to believe the character (played by show creator Seth McFarlane in his actual voice) was gone for good. Well, a new site has popped up to add fuel to the fire. BriansAnnouncement.com has a countdown clock, promising “a special announcement from Brian†over nine days from now. Could this mean resurrection? An All Dogs Go to Heaven–like spinoff? The December 15 Family Guy episode also points to a comeback, supposedly revolving around Stewie trying to get “the one and only thing he wants for Christmas.†To be fair, Fox tells TV Line, “The producers have confirmed that the ‘special announcement from Brian’ website is a hoax and was not created by anyone connected to the show, studio or network.†But that’s exactly what they would say, if they were lying.
