The rumors are true: CBS is filming a pilot for a How I Met Your Mother spinoff, which will be written and executive produced by HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and Up All Night creator Emily Spivey. As has been previously leaked, the show will feature a group of friends that is “similar†to the MacLaren’s Pub crew, only this time the focus will be on a woman searching for a husband. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the new characters and plot probably won’t be introduced in the HIMYM series finale. Other than that, the only new news here is that the project will be called How I Met Your Dad, as opposed to “father.â€
