Seth Rogen’s production company Point Grey is teaming up with legendary producer Scott Rudin to produce a movie that will star Workaholics’ stars Anders Holm, Adam DeVine and Blake Anderson. Holm will write the script, and Workaholics co-creator and co-star Kyle Newachack will direct, but the film will be entirely unrelated to their Comedy Central show. Point Grey is made up of Rogen, his frequent co-writer Evan Goldberg and their producer partner James Weaver. Holm, DeVine, Anderson and Newachack have worked together for years as part of the sketch troupe Mail Order Comedy.
DeVine gave these details about the upcoming film to Splitsider a couple weeks ago:
Yeah, we’ve written a script that we’re working on right now. We have Seth Rogen and Scott Rudin helping us produce it with Evan Goldberg, Seth’s writing partner. We’re hoping to take that on in the next few weeks and setting it up and trying to shoot that this next year. So we’re really excited. It’s a big action-comedy. It’s not aWorkaholics movie, but it is starring the three of us. So we’re kind of looking at a Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder situation, where they play different characters, but they were in 50 movies together.
In the meantime, Workaholics isn’t going anywhere. The fourth season of the show debuts on Comedy Central in January, and the network has already ordered a fifth. Meanwhile, Rogen and Goldberg also have their animated movie Sausage Party,  a Christmas stoner movie, and an FX animated comedy in the works.
