Is this the James Francoiest James Franco project? Co-written and co-directed by twelve NYU film students, Tar tells the story of poet C.K. Williams’s life and is based on his book of poetry by the same name. (Years ago, Franco told us that “Tar†was one of his favorite poems.) Franco plays Williams. Mila Kunis plays his wife, Jessica Chastain his mom (uncanny resemblance, right?), and Zach Braff his friend. The film, which actually premiered almost a year ago at the Rome Film Festival, doesn’t have a distributor or release date, so it might be a while before we figure out exactly what’s going on. What a bummer for the film’s target audience: James Franco.
