With the exception of 2012’s Bachelorette, Adam McKay and Will Ferrell’s production company Gary Sanchez isn’t exactly known for making female-driven movies, but according to Deadline, that’s all about to change as the company has added a sister label aptly named Gloria Sanchez Productions. Longtime Gary Sanchez executive Jessica Elbaum – who has worked as producer on Step Brothers, The Other Guys, Casa de mi Padre, Bachelorette and most recently Anchorman 2 – will head the label and seek out female voices for Gloria Sanchez projects in the vein of Bachelorette and the upcoming movies Tammy starring Melissa McCarthy and Welcome to Me starring Kristen Wiig. No word yet whether or not Gloria Sanchez plans to unveil Funny Or Die: Girls Only Edition, but I’ll take any hint of more Kristen Wiig on the big screen.
