In the fall of 2012, Andy Samberg starred in a six-episode BBC sitcom called Cuckoo, in which he played a hippie slacker tormenting his father-in-law, and with Samberg occupied full-time starring in the US series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Twilight star Taylor Lautner will be the new lead on Cuckoo for its second season, The Guardian reports.
The second series will find the rest of the cast returning, taking place two years after the first with Samberg’s character Cuckoo having gone missing while researching a book in the Himalayas. The central family is putting their lives back together in the wake of destruction caused by Cuckoo, when Lautner, playing a mysterious young stranger, shows up in town.
Cuckoo still hasn’t made its way to the US, but NBC was developing a remake of the series this past season.
