According to Variety, it’s a new draft of a script originally written by Abi Morgan and then Kelly Marcel — which would mean this is the Joe Wright Little Mermaid that’s been kicking around for years. Anyway, now Sofia is directing it, which can only mean a live-action movie full of druggy mermaids and Phoenix covering “Under the Sea.†Great, can’t wait!
