On the Today show this morning, what began as a harmless discussion with Welsh actor Matthew Rhys about how he learned to mimic American accents by watching U.S. television shows quickly escalated into unmitigated ’80s pop-culture joy when he began reciting the spoken-word opening credits to The A-Team verbatim. But like the wrongly accused crack commando unit from the George Peppard, Dirk Benedict, Dwight Schultz, and Mr. T vehicle in question (and I don’t mean their bitchin’ GMC van), The Americans stud doesn’t take on a mission alone. Clearly, Al Roker and Matthew Rhys love it when a plan comes together.
