Roman Polanski has followed 2011’s Carnage with another theatrical adaptation: Venus in Fur. Based on a Tony-winning play of the same name, it stars Polanski’s wife Emmanuelle Seigner as an actress willing to do whatever it takes to get a part from a director (Mathieu Almaric). It’s in French, so there are subtitles, and the trailer features an oddly unenthusiastic narrator. The film is scheduled to open on June 20, because nothing says “summer movie†like a French, subtitled Roman Polanski movie.
