Ghostbusters was released 30 years ago this weekend, and for the occasion, the movie is heading back to theaters. Entertainment Weekly reports that a restored and remastered version of the movie will hit 700 theaters nationwide on August 29th. There will also be a 30th/25th anniversary Blu-Ray release of both Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II on September 16th. There’s also a new Ghostbusters official website made for the 30th anniversary that looks like it was made for the 20th anniversary. Ghostbusters was re-released theatrically super recently in 2011 in what appeared to have been an effort to bolster support for a third movie, which Dan Aykroyd is still trying to make but he hasn’t had much progress yet three years later.
