Back in May, Adult Swim announced that they had ordered an untitled half-hour series starring 30 Rock’s Jack McBrayer and Robert Smigel’s Triumph the Insult Comic Dog co-created by Smigel, Michael Koman, and David Feldman, and at Comic-Con the group talked about what we can expect from the series – that is, when Triumph wasn’t preoccupied burning the audience and panel moderator Leonard Maltin. While the only new casting news is the addition of Nebraska’s June Squibb, Smigel told the audience that they are really hoping to get Sam Donaldson to play one of Triumph’s poker buddies, and Koman described the show as part scripted sitcom and part multi-cam with a studio audience, with real-life Conan-style remote Triumph segments interwoven throughout the show.
