At Comic-Con, we were all surprised when Legendary Pictures ended its panel with a teaser for a new King Kong movie. There was no information but a title, Skull Island, which is the name of King Kong’s home; it has only been shown briefly in previous movies in the franchise. Today Legendary filled in the most important details: The film will star Tom Hiddleston, with Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) directing. Max Borenstein, who wrote the most recent Godzilla reboot, wrote the first draft of the script. The film is scheduled for a November 4, 2016 release because Legendary does not want anyone to dress as King Kong for Halloween.
