Rumor had it Adele was going to release her third album this year; the singer Tweeted a cryptic hint in May suggesting as much, and musicians’ Twitter hints have never steered us wrong before. But the New York Times has looked into Adele’s record label’s financial reports and found a shocking discovery: There are no plans for a new Adele album in 2014. Of course, there are somehow only 11 weeks left in 2014, so this isn’t really as big of a deal as it might seem. Like sand in the hourglass, man.
