Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman will co-star in a David E. Kelley miniseries, Deadline reports. Go ahead and wrap your noggin around that one, because wow. Big Little Lies, based on Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, follows three women whose children are in the same kindergarten class; somehow, the trivia night at their beach-town elementary school ends in a riot in which one parent dies under suspicious circumstances. Kidman and Witherspoon, whose production companies optioned the book over the summer, will star and produce, with Kelley writing the adaptation. There’s no network attached yet, but that can’t be true for long. Murder and beach towns and Oscar winners? The Emmy campaign is somehow already under way.
