Michelle MacLaren is in talks to direct the Gal Gadot–starring Wonder Woman movie. For years, MacLaren has been one of the most successful, praised directors on TV, directing episodes of Breaking Bad (and serving as an executive producer), Game of Thrones, and The Walking Dead. This would be MacLaren’s first feature, but considering the cinematic quality of those shows, Wonder Woman doesn’t seem like that much of a stretch. Word is that Warner Bros. was looking for a female director to take on the iconic female superhero. Though Lexi Alexander directed 2008’s Punisher: War Zone (which has since developed a cult following), MacLaren would be the first female director in the recent history of major comic-book movies. Women have been available to direct comic-book movies this whole time.
