If you’re a Nicholas Sparks fan, The Longest Ride probably has you at “cowboy romance,†and if it doesn’t have you at “cowboy romance,†it definitely has you at “cowboy romance with World War II flashbacks.†If you’re trying to keep from crying, distract yourself with this: Nearly every actor in this movie is related to another famous person. We’ve got Scott Eastwood (son of Clint) as the cowboy, Jack Huston (nephew of Anjelica) as a WWII soldier, and Oona Chaplin (granddaughter of Charlie) as his wife. Remember when people got really angry at Orange County for this same reason? The world has changed a lot since 2002 — except in Nicholas Sparks movies, where it’s always 1957.
