One of SNL’s favorite tricks is interrupting a cast member’s impression of a famous person with an appearance of the actual famous person. As Jay Pharoah tells “Page Six,†that same thing recently happened to him in real life. “At the after-party [for SNL 40], Jay Z came up to me and said, ‘What up, fake Jay Z, hahaha,’ and he just walked off,†Pharoah recalled. Then it got better: “Beyoncé was like, ‘I don’t want to say anything about you because I don’t want you to impersonate me.’†All this story needs is a random “Hova!†to be absolutely perfect.
