Last year’s hit film Neighbors starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron has a sequel in the works. According to Deadline, Universal Pictures confirmed today that Neighbors 2 is happening with Efron and Rogen both attached to star, and the sequel is slated for a May 13, 2016 premiere, two years after the US premiere of the original. Nicholas Stoller will return to direct, Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien will write the script, and Rogen’s longtime writing partner Evan Goldberg will serve as a producer on the project. The original Neighbors grossed $268M worldwide last year, making it the top-grossing original comedy of 2014.
