On the off chance that you live under a rock or haven’t checked Instagram yet, today is unofficially known as Biggie Day, or the anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.’s death. As such, Kendrick Lamar stopped by Big Boy’s new show on Real 92.3, not only to promote his new album — which may not be untitled after all? — but to spit over some classic Biggie beats, including “The What,†which you can hear below. Lines like “From Compton to Congress, it’s set trippin’ all around / Ain’t nothin’ new but a flow of DemoCrips and ReBloodicans / Red state versus blue state, which one you governing?†put Kendrick in his own lane.
