After suffering a vocal-cord hemorrhage and canceling his Australian tour, Sam Smith announced that he will be getting surgery on his vocal cords next week. He made the announcement via Instagram, where he says this will allow him to “sing like never before.” The doctors say he will be able to return in six to eight weeks, which is just enough time for him to evolve into his next form.
