For his final show, David Letterman called in his favorite band (Foo Fighters) to play his favorite song (“Everlongâ€) — a repeat of the performance they gave in February 2000, when the Foos interrupted a South American tour to appear on Dave’s first episode back after heart surgery. Even though the band members all rented nice tuxes for tonight, they were mostly there to serve as the soundtrack for a fantastic clip montage spanning highlights from three decades of the Late Show.
