SNL cast member Jay Pharoah is set to make his standup special debut next month. In a press release today, Showtime announced that Pharoah’s first hourlong special Jay Pharoah: Can I Be Me? will air on the pay network Saturday, August 1st at 10:00pm. The special was taped at The Cutting Room in New York and features Pharoah’s many celebrity impressions as well as “comedic insight on relationships, family, music and pop culture.†On the big screen, Pharoah most recently appeared in Chris Rock’s Top Five and Balls Out alongside fellow SNLers Kate McKinnon and Beck Bennett.
