There’s a lot of heft to this movie: Spielberg, Hanks, the Coens, and most important, historical import. Steven Spielberg helms Bridge of Spies, written by Joel and Ethan Coen, and starring Tom Hanks as a former insurance lawyer who finds himself in the awkward position of defending a Soviet spy, then negotiating a trade with the U.S.S.R., which has a U.S. fighter pilot whose head is full of secrets. Basically, Tom Hanks is just your average Joe saving the world from the brink of thermonuclear disaster. Here’s the U.K. cut of the trailer, which is actually better organized than the U.S. one. The movie drops October 16.
