Emile Hirsch has pleaded guilty to assaulting a Paramount executive in January, AP reports. For the charge of misdemeanor assault, he will spend 15 days in jail, perform 50 hours of community service, and pay a $4,750 fine. Hirsch had been charged with a felony for an incident at a nightclub during the Sundance Film Festival, where he reportedly “blindsidedâ€Â Paramount’s Dani Bernfield by coming up behind her, putting her in a chokehold, and then throwing her on the ground. Hirsch, who was drinking, has said he doesn’t remember details of the attack, or why he did it. His lawyer, Robert Hilder, says that the drinks may have interfered with Hirsch’s medication, and claims the actor has been sober since the assault. Through her lawyer, Bernfield released a statement criticizing the plea deal as too lenient.
