If you haven’t seen the latest episode of Hannibal yet, proceed with caution. Quinto reappears as Neal Frank after a brief, yet memorable cameo in the season-three premiere. In a gruesome flashback sequence, Neal starts to gag during a therapy session with Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson). But rather than try to save him, Bedelia shoves her hand down Neal’s throat, forcing him to choke on his own tongue. “I’ve always admired and wanted to work with Gillian, and Bryan [Fuller] and I had a conversation in which it seemed like that could be possible so I just jumped at the chance,†Quinto told Vulture at a fan event in Times Square for his upcoming film, Hitman: Agent 47. “It was, you know, brief but really fulfilling and exciting.â€
Quinto said the experience brought them closer together. “Suffice it to say, we’re definitely friends now,†said Quinto. “You know, you don’t go through something like that with another actor and not come away with some connection. She’s actually up in Vancouver right now filming The X-Files, so while we’re doing Star Trek we’ll have dinner and just hang out. She’s great; I adore her.†Quinto maintained his typically relaxed demeanor as he reflected on the gory scene with Anderson. Where’d he get his cool? From his professionally beautiful boyfriend, Miles McMillan, of course.
“I don’t know if I’ve learned it, but I think my boyfriend’s probably my cool mentor, actually,†said Quinto. “He’s just cool!â€
