Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Preacher adaptation is headed to AMC. Rogen announced on Twitter today that the show – which got a pilot order last year – has been officially picked up by the network:
Based on the graphic novel by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, Preacher will center on “Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Along with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), the three embark on a journey to literally find God.†Rogen and Goldberg will co-executive produce, and Breaking Bad’s Sam Catlin will serve as showrunner. AMC has yet to confirm a premiere date or number of episodes ordered.
