If you were wondering what Pierce Brosnan thinks about all the James Bond casting discussions floating around, he has an answer for you. In a recent interview promoting his latest project, Lessons in Love, Brosnan, the last white male to play James Bond before Daniel Craig, seemed to rule out any big changes for the 007 role. “Anything is possible for sure, but I think he’ll be male and he’ll be white,†Brosnan told the Press Association. “There’s wonderful black actors out there who could be James Bond, and there’s no reason why you cannot have a black James Bond … But a female James Bond, no, I think it has to be male. James Bond is a guy, he’s all male. His name is James, his name is James Bond.†The speculation follows close on the heels of an international push for more diversity in the super spy’s role, as well as rumors hinting Spectre will be Craig’s last Bond appearance. Brosnan, we hope you’re wrong.
