Fresh Off the Boat co-executive producer Sanjay Shah has a new comedy in the works at Fox. According to Deadline, the network has given a script commitment to a single-cam comedy from Shah called Eat Pray Thug, which is based on the life of rapper Heems. Utkarsh Ambudkar (Pitch Perfect, Barbershop 3, The Mindy Project) is attached to star in the series, which will center on “a successful rapper who chooses to live with his Indian-American parents in Queens.†Ambudkar will also serve as a co-executive producer alongside Shah, and Heems is onboard as a co-producer. In addition to Fresh Off the Boat, Shah has worked as a writer/producer on Enlisted, Cougar Town, and King of the Hill.
