Minutes before Adele debuted her heart-wrenching first new song in three years, she phoned in to Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show for a quick chat about her big return. But she was also there to break some news about her next album: 25 will likely be the final chapter in a trilogy of albums named after her age at the time she wrote them. (Fun fact: Adele is actually 27 now.) And, as she tells Lowe, she doesn’t see herself doing any more age-titled albums after 25. “I feel like there’s been a massive change in me in the last couple of years — having become a parent and me and all of my friends suddenly living grown-up lives. [I think] how I feel about myself is gonna be how I feel forever. Of course I’m always gonna change my opinions on things and feelings, but calling the albums after my age has always shown a photograph of what was going on in my life then and there. I feel like not that much is gonna change profoundly in me from now in terms of how important eras of my life are. I think the next one is probably gonna be called Adele, the real me [laughs].†Just wait until you hit 30, Adele.
