Another week, another day closer to a Ryan Seacrest television monopoly. According to Variety, Seabreeze will be executive-producing Squad Goals, a scripted sitcom that will revolve around a group of 20-something college friends who come to the eventual realization that they have to, indeed, grow up and become real adults. The script will be helmed by Lindsey Rosin and Aaron Karo, and will apparently be loosely inspired by their own life experiences and observations. This is the second project Seashell’s production company sold to CBS this week — a few days ago, CBS also bought an Atlanta-based crime-drama script titled The Down Beat, which Ludacris will also be executive-producing. But really, c’mon, Seashore! Everyone now knows that squads are so passé. Covens are where it’s at.
