Conan O’Brien is taking his show to Armenia. According to Variety, the late night host reportedly began filming a special edition of his TBS show in Armenia yesterday, and the trip will air on Conan next month on Tuesday November 10th. His assistant Sona Movsesian – who has shown up in Conan segments before – is of Armenian descent, so she’ll be joining him in the episode. It will make the first time an American late night host has broadcast an episode from the country, and it’s Movsesian’s first trip there too. “I think it’s every boss’s responsibility to take their assistant back to their ancestral land,†said O’Brien on the news. “That’s why I’m going to make sure my next assistant was born in a five-star resort in Tuscany.â€
O’Brien is no stranger to remote episodes like this – his special from Cuba aired earlier this year and he’s traveled to many different countries since his Late Night days like Canada, Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands. Check out some of Conan’s most memorable remote segments here.
