Instead of interviewing J.J. Abrams, Vanity Fair got a selection of famous people, including a suspiciously large number of Silicon Valley cast members, to do it for them. Abrams mostly played coy about what’s going to happen in Force Awakens — even to George Lucas! — but he did reveal two surprising facts about himself: One, he’s a huge Katie Couric fan, and two, he believes aliens exist somewhere in the universe. He also took another opportunity to wash his hands of anything and everything related to Lost. All he did was direct the pilot!
