Asking Channing Tatum not to be sexy is like asking a fish not to swim, a bird not to fly, a Cajun not to speak in a charming French accent, mon chéri. And so, in an interview with Collider, producer Simon Kinberg dutifully reveals that, yes, Tatum’s Gambit movie will be exactly as sexy as a passion project for a former Sexiest Man Alive should be. “Gambit will have its own different flavor and tone” from the X-Men movies, Kinberg says. “It will be more of like a heist movie and a sexy thriller in a way.” (Tatum himself has stated the film will be an origin story.) “Sexy thriller” plus “heist” plus “director Doug Liman“? Our inner Jumper fan is doing backflips right now.
