Though NBC woefully canceled Hannibal for not being The Blacklist enough, Bryan Fuller has a treat for fans missing his macabre sense of humor and Gillian Anderson’s Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier. Fuller directed a PETA ad starring Anderson, inspired by his recent transition to being a pescatarian. Fuller told EW that writing Hannibal made him realize that “human beings and other animals have more similarities than differences,†and it changed his perspective on eating meeting. Fuller described eating animals as “no different than eating another human being.†Anderson reflects his new stance in the ad as she dines, looks into the camera, and morosely says, “Eating meat, it’s a matter of taste,†before Fuller pans beneath the dinner table to reveal a sickening twist.
