A hot minute after learning about Charlie Sheen confirming he’s had HIV since 2011, autism scientist Jenny McCarthy hopped on her SiriusXM radio show â€Dirty, Sexy, Funny†and blasted him for not revealing his HIV status to her. Keep in mind, McCarthy was on Two and a Half Men with Sheen from 2009 to 2011, so it’s not clear exactly when McCarthy would have wanted him to reveal that information to her. Perhaps he should have traveled back in time to 2009 and informed her? “I look back and I’m like, ‘Okay, that would have been some valuable information,’†McCarthy continued. “Look how many people have played his love interest on the show. I mean, not that you can obviously get it through kissing, but still that’s a big deal.â€Â According to McCarthy, “If I have to be upfront about a herpe, how could you not be upfront about HIV?†Valid question or not, it’s not one Sheen would have been able to answer in 2009, at least two years before he contracted HIV. Of course, there’s still the chance that, during McCarthy’s two appearances in the fall of 2011, she could have gotten HIV from Sheen then, right?
As Sheen’s manager points out to People, nah: “Charlie was infected long after he left Two and a Half Men and long after he worked with Jenny.â€Â The last episode McCarthy and Sheen filmed together aired on December 13, 2010. When McCarthy appeared on the show again in 2011, Sheen’s character had already been killed off. Still, we look forward to McCarthy’s future musings on time travel.
Update: Jenny McCarthy has clarified her original comments in a lengthy Twitter post:
