Orange Is the New Black’s Dascha Polanco is battling four counts of assault and harassment in court, according to reports. The drama stems from a newly revealed July arrest that happened in Upper Manhattan, after the 33-year-old Polanco (Dayanara “Daya†Diaz on the show) allegedly punched, scratched, and pulled the hair of a 17-year-old girl who was visiting the actress’s residence. Although police sources told Page Six the girl was hospitalized, Polanco’s attorney maintains that the case is “a setup to try to get money and it was tape-recorded … We’re confident the charges will be dismissed.â€Â The actress’s next court date, according to People, comes in January.
