They look kind of similar! Anyone could have made that mistake! Reese Witherspoon, Pacific Standard, and Bold Films have reportedly optioned the Robin Gerber biography Barbie and Ruth: The Story of the World’s Most Famous Doll and the Woman Who Created Her. Witherspoon could possibly star as Ruth Handler, creator of the original Barbie. Handler was inspired to make the doll by her daughter Barbara, a seven-foot-tall astronaut/veterinarian/figure skater with a 16-inch waist and a hot-pink plastic mansion. Or so I assume. Guess we’ll all have to watch and find out!
