It’s been a good cinematic year for Oscar Isaac, but for some of us, there’s no such thing as too much of a good actor. Let Mojave tide you over until Star Wars: The Force Awakens, then: As you’ll see in this exclusive clip, it features Isaac doing many of the things he does best, like threatening another man, talking subtextually, and pouring himself into a tight white sweater. In the thriller, scripted and directed by William Monahan (The Departed), Isaac plays a canny drifter going mano a mano with a spoiled actor (Garrett Hedlund) who’s wandering the desert hoping for some sort of spiritual reawakening. What he finds is murder, mayhem, and Isaac in that sweater. The movie’s out now on DirecTV, and debuts in theaters in January.
