ABC has ordered two new comedy pilots. Deadline reports that the network has given pilot orders to single-cam projects called Chunk & Bean and Square Roots. Produced by Dave Hemingson (Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23) and written by Ed Herro and Brian Donovan (The Neighbors), Chunk & Bean centers on “the unlikely friendship of two misfits, Chunk and Bean, who benefit from having two very different sets of parents living next door to each other.†Square Roots follows “a man from a family of logic-driven engineers who is determined to use his ‘gift’ to help the people he loves with their everyday issues … whether they like it or not†and is written and produced by Vijal Patel, who has written for The Middle, Trophy Wife,, and Black-ish.
