Tommy Lee Played Mötley Crüe’s Final Show While Stuck on His Drum Roller-Coaster; Cue Rock Hand-Sign

Despite decades of debauchery, Mötley Crüe somehow lived long enough to play their final show at the Staples Center on New Year’s Eve. But it seems one crucial member prematurely retired before the ball dropped: Tommy Lee’s drum coaster. For the last couple years, Lee has taken his legendary stage stunt to new death-defying heights, flying himself and his drum kit (dubbed the Crüecifly) on a roller-coaster contraption above the crowd at most shows. Well, the Crüecifly has had enough of his shit. During Lee’s final solo with his crew, the drum coaster quit on him mid-ride, malfunctioning while Lee was suspended upside down above the audience. Did the Crüecifly plan to steal the band’s finale thunder? We’ll never be certain, though the whole concert was filmed, so keep an eye on that thing. But if you think Lee’s seen the last of the Crüecifly’s vengeance, just wait until Coachella 2050.
