FKA Twigs Drops a Lush New Video and Song Because She Knows She’s ‘Good to Love’

Somehow, FKA Twigs always knows when a void starts growing in her absence. Then, right on time, poof, she appears with a surprise new video and song, just like she did with an entire EP and matching short film last year. Today she returns with “Good to Love,†a lush new song premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, and a video simultaneously dropped on her site. It’s a song she originally played live last year at her Soundtrack 7 residency in Manchester, but now it comes with a dreamy black-and-white set of visuals that has her rustling and writhing around in the sheets — everything we wanted from Zayn’s “Pillowtalk†video but didn’t get. As usual, it’s centered on Twigs’ body contortions and fluttering vocals, but it’s really the song that feels the best to love. It’s a tantalizing, mid-tempo ballad that swells but then holds back, production-wise, at all the right moments. Will it ever actually feel bad to love FKA Twigs? Nah.
