Last month it was announced that Joel McHale had signed on to star in a multi-cam CBS pilot from Tosh.0’s Mike Gibbons, and today the network announced another star in the project. According to Variety, Christopher Mintz-Plasse has joined McHale in the pilot The Great Indoors, which centers on McHale as “an adventure reporter named Joel who must adapt to the times when he becomes the boss to a group of millennials in the digital department of the magazine.†Mintz-Plasse will play one of Joel’s coworkers Clark, “a tech/nerd survivalist who knows everything about surviving at sea, in the woods and on Mars, but hasn’t left downtown in five years.†Chris Williams, Shaun Brown, and Christine Ko also have regular roles in the series as Joel’s best friend (Williams), Joel’s new coworker in the digital department (Brown), and the magazine’s “millennial social media expert who views Joel as an out-of-touch relic from another time†(Ko).
