Seriously, what is going on with Australia’s lakes? You can’t step into a body of water down there without ten episodes’ worth of horror getting all over your swimsuit. And forget fishing! Forget. Fishing. Fortunately for the nightmare-clogged lakes of the Southern Hemisphere, Game of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie is joining Top of the Lake in a “substantial role†alongside Elisabeth Moss. Both actresses are officially onboard for the show’s second season, which is titled Top of the Lake 2: China Girl. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The second season moves the action from New Zealand to Australia, picking up four years after the events of the first season when the unidentified body of an Asian girl washes up on to Sydney’s Bondi Beach. The case seems hopeless until Robin discovers that she was not the only victim.†Oh, did you think they were going to find just one person’s body? Grow up. This isn’t a pond.
