It’s morphin’ time! Because that TV show you loved as a kid is morphin’ into a feature-length film in 2017, starring none of the original cast members (because they’ve morphed into 40-something adults). The movie will star Becky G, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Ludi Lin, and Dacre Montgomery as Trini, Billy, Kimberly, Zack, and Jason, respectively. The new Power Rangers are just as diverse as the originals, with none of the awkward racial implications. The colorful suits will also get an upgrade, as they’ll be designed by Weta Workshop of Lord of the Rings fame. And Elizabeth Banks is likely preparing for her role by doing some neck exercises, because she’ll play Rita Repulsa, and that girl’s hat-game was strong. (That hat probably weighs like 40 pounds.)
