Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning to play Kathryn, Ryan Phillippe can’t come back because Sebastian is dead so we’ll give him a free pass, but Reese?! Where are you, Reese? (Yes, we do know your name.) Witherspoon apparently wasn’t even approached about reprising her role in the iconic teen drama. Instead, Drop Dead Diva star Kate Levering will play Annette Hargrove in the pilot reboot. The show will take place 15 years after the movie, when Annette’s son Bash (Taylor John Smith) finds out that his dad was billionaire hotel magnate Sebastian Valmont, and goes to San Fran to meet his birth family (cough, Kathryn, cough). It may sound corny, but all the characters are probably all going to have to turn to God to them them through their problems.
