If the 1920s had reality TV, there might have been a show called Maxwell Perkins: Editor of Genius, given that Perkins edited the likes of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Hemingway, and Thomas Wolfe. But sadly the 1920s did not have reality TV, so instead we have Genius, a biopic based on the 1978 biography literally called Maxwell Perkins: Editor of Genius. The film stars Perkins (Colin Firth) and Wolfe (Jude Law), shouting about literature, a whole lot of red marker, and (tangentially), the women in their lives, Allie Bernstein (Nicole Kidman) and Louise Sanders (Laura Linney). Genius premieres June 10.
