In The Meddler Susan Sarandon moves to L.A. to spend time with her daughter, Rose Byrne, and give her all the advice she possibly can. Because this is Susan Sarandon, the move comes off as charming and not some nightmare scenario like that episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The film also features Byrne’s L.A. friends Casey Wilson, Cecily Strong, and Lucy Punch, and a love interest for Sarandon in J.K. Simmons. Directed and written by Lorene Scafaria (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist), The Meddler screened at the Toronto International Film Festival last fall and is set to hit theaters April 22. It will give your mom a lot of ideas.
