Will Forte to Play ‘National Lampoon’ Co-Founder Doug Kenney in a Film Directed by David Wain

David Wain’s next movie sounds like a comedy nerd jackpot.

“>According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wain is set to direct A Futile and Stupid Gesture, a movie about National Lampoon co-founder Doug Kenney, with Will Forte attached to play the lead role. The film will reportedly be released on Netflix and is based on the 2006 book by Josh Karp. Childrens Hospital writers and former Harvard Lampoon editors Michael Colton and John Aboud wrote the script, and both Ed Helms and Jonathan Stern will executive produce. Production on the project will begin next month.
