Joined by Prince cover artists Maya Rudolph and Gretchen Lieberum, D’Angelo honored the late music icon Tuesday night with a poignant rendition of “Sometimes It Snows in April.†The trio performed the Parade closer on The Tonight Show, with Rudolph and Lieberum providing backup vocals, D’Angelo playing the piano, and the last verse receiving a slight lyric change. “I often dream of heaven and I know that Prince is there,†D’Angelo sang. “Maybe he’s found the answer to all the April snow.â€
