At some point in his life, Robert De Niro has let loose while listening to Usher, because that is true of everyone on the planet. But you just have to wonder whether his flashbacks to that moment of pure delight made it harder to film scenes with his co-star. De Niro and Usher appear together in Hands of Stone, which stars Edgar Ramirez as legendary Panamanian boxer Roberto Durán, who famously quit in the middle of a boxing match with Sugar Ray Leonard (played by Usher, rocking some great wig work). De Niro co-stars as Durán’s trainer Ray Arcel. Hands of Stone comes from Venezuelan writer and director Jonathan Jakubowicz. It hits — get it? — theaters this summer.
